Diagnostics

Quicker diagnosis leads to quicker treatment.

At Health & Harmony Animal Hospital, we understand that pets won’t always tell us what is wrong or where it hurts. For this reason, our hospital is fully equipped with an in-house laboratory, digital radiology, and multitude of other diagnostic equipment and services.

Our in-house laboratory is able to provide results within minutes, which helps our veterinarians to create an optimal real-time treatment plan for your pet. We can screen pets for abnormalities like pancreatitis, kidney disease, heartworm disease, urinary tract infections – and so much more! In critically ill pets, this may save valuable time and guide our team to giving your pet the best outcome possible. For more routine testing, we partner with an excellent reference laboratory that provides most results within 24-72 hours.

Pet Imaging and Ultrasound Center

Digital x-ray imaging allows us to gain information from your pet in a non-invasive and painless way. Radiographs (x-rays) can show us anything from broken bones and bladder stones to heart disease and intestinal obstructions. Additionally, we have a smaller x-ray unit so that we can provide full mouth dental images for all of our dental patients, which allows us to find problems that are commonly hidden beneath the gum line. Because all of our radiographs are digital, we are able to quickly share images with numerous specialists who can help provide further insight into your pet’s condition.

In times when advanced imaging is needed, we utilize a mobile ultrasound service that will come onsite to perform the ultrasound at our hospital, with the staff your pet knows and trusts. Your veterinarian will be able to consult with the board-certified radiologist who performs the ultrasound to create the best treatment plan for your pet, without the added stress of bringing your pet to a large referral hospital. Ultrasound imaging is yet another powerful way we can utilize technology to detect abnormalities and guide us toward giving your pet the best medical care possible. If further advanced imaging is needed, such as a CT Scan or MRI, we will refer these cases to obtain this specialized care at a nearby referral hospital.
