Meet Our Veterinarians

Dr. Evelyn Bowden, DVM

Dr. Evelyn Bowden, DVM

Dr. Evelyn Bowden is one of the proud owners of Health & Harmony Animal Hospital. Her Alma Mater is Wittenberg University where she graduated with a B.A. in Biology in 1996. Between undergrad and vet school, she allowed her life experiences to guide her to her next venture, which was to pursue a degree in Veterinary Medicine. She graduated from The Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2009, spent her first three years out of school working for a rural mixed animal practice, then pursued her dream of owning her own veterinary practice. She feels fortunate that Dr. Kim West joined her in this pursuit, as they have been devoted friends for almost 20 years! Creating a welcoming, calm, supportive environment by communicating openly with clients and going the extra mile to provide comfort to our patients has been their vision and we hope that you will experience this coming to our clinic.

Dr. Bowden shares her life and home first and foremost with her husband, Chuck, who is a Union Pipefitter of almost 30 years! Her stepson, Zach, is 20 and on his way to taking on and figuring out the world. They also have 3 rescue kitties (Bakey, Pixi, and Buddy) and 2 rescue dogs (Josie and Loki) who keeps them very busy! Their first Doberman (Tanner) will forever remain their hearts.

Dr. Kimberly West, DVM

Dr. Kimberly West, DVM

Dr. Kimberly West graduated from The Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004 and has worked in various small animal veterinary hospitals and animal shelters within the Columbus area.

One of her passions is animal rescue which comes almost inherently; she has many inspiring stories, even about her own pets!

Dr. West is also excited to share the benefits of acupuncture and herbals in a more integrative approach to veterinary medicine, allowing more choices for the care of your animals.

Anyone that has met Dr. West knows that she has never met a stranger!  This is evident in how deeply rooted she is in Columbus, especially within her own neighborhood of Grandview Heights.

Although her roots are in Grandview Heights, those roots extend all the way to Beavercreek, Colorado, where she and her husband, Blake, share time together snowboarding and hiking with their two dogs, Tupelo Honey and Fruitbat. You can now find Dr. West’s darling 3-year-old son, Michael, romping through her house as if he’d always been there!

Dr. Molly Cassandra, DVM

Dr. Molly Cassandra, DVM

Dr. Molly Cassandra received her undergraduate degree from Miami University of Ohio in Zoology and went on to the College of Veterinary Medicine at The Ohio State University, graduating in 2007. After graduation, she and her husband, Dr. Kevin Cox, moved to the Pacific Northwest and lived in the Seattle area for several years. She started her career in a small animal practice in Bellevue, WA, while helping her husband manage and start two small animal hospitals in the Redmond, WA area. Dr. Cassandra made her way back to the Columbus area in 2010 and became a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Community Practice Department at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She joined the Health and Harmony team in 2017. She is very excited to provide exceptional medical care to pets within her local community.

Dr. Cassandra enjoys preventive medicine, internal medicine and providing behavioral support. She became certified in Low-Stress Handling for patients in 2016. Dr. Cassandra resides locally and lives with her husband, daughter, Josephine, cat, “Bluebelle,” and dogs, “Willy” and “Stan.” She enjoys spending time traveling, cooking, being active and enjoying the outdoors.

Dr. Sarah Erwin, DVM

Dr. Sarah Erwin, DVM

Dr. Sarah Erwin completed her undergraduate studies and veterinary school at The Ohio State University. After graduation in 2008, she worked for a year at a small animal general practice in Columbus before following her passion for emergency medicine. Dr. Erwin worked for 24-hour emergency clinics in both Dayton and Columbus for the next 10 years before returning to general practice in July 2019. Dr. Erwin enjoys preventive medicine, emergency medicine, and cardiology, as well as behavior. She is excited to join the Health & Harmony team and looks forward to developing lasting relationships with the clients and their pets.

Dr. Erwin resides locally in Westerville with her husband, Marcus, and their 3 pets: a yellow Labrador named Dizzy and two cats, Duff and Axl. She has competed in triathlons in the past and enjoys spending time relaxing, swimming, and enjoying the outdoors.

Meet Our Management Team

Lindsey Robertson

Lindsey Robertson

Practice Manager

Lindsey joined our team in November 2020 after moving to the area from her hometown of Huntington, West Virginia. She grew up in the veterinary field surrounded by inspiring doctors. She has always had a passion for the industry that must run in the family as her mom is a veterinary practice manager as well. She obtained both her Bachelor’s degree in International Business as well as her Master of Business Administration from Marshall University. Lindsey loves that this field always keeps her learning and helping others to best care for their pets. She has special interests in surgery and emergency medicine and of course, she always enjoys those new puppy visits! Outside of work, Lindsey loves cooking, hiking, and spending time with her family back home. She has visited Scotland twice and dreams of returning for many more trips.

Lindsey lives in Columbus with her boyfriend, Justin. They share their home with her Standard Poodle snuggle bug, Nessie, a beautiful German Shepherd, Zoey, and two kitties that rule the roost – Fiona and Skye!

Kelly Sample

Kelly Sample

Inventory Manager

Most of our clients will already know Kelly, as she has been the face of our front desk since March 2014. Kelly was born in Syracuse, NY, and joined the Air Force straight out of high school. After serving 5 years, she was honorably discharged and moved to Columbus a few years later. Kelly followed her lifelong love of animals to Citizens for Humane Action Animal Shelter where she began volunteering before obtaining employment. Kelly holds a Dog Training Certificate from Animal Behavior College, which makes sense, given her special interest in canine behavior and understanding how their brains work and learn. When Kelly finds time away from the clinic, she loves hiking through forests and traveling to see live music, especially her favorite band, Twiddle.

Kelly lives with her husband Tim in Columbus. They share their home with Turtle the cat, a rescue from the streets, who joined their family in 2019.

Meet Our Client Care Team

Anneliese B.

Anneliese B.

Client Care Specialist

In October 2019, Anneliese came aboard our team after several years as a loyal client of Health & Harmony. She is a true Columbus native, growing up in Clintonville & Grandview prior to attending the Ohio State University with a major in environmental science and a minor in biology. After she graduated, she worked as a server and spent a month as a volunteer rehabilitating exotic wildlife (mainly sloths, monkeys & parrots) in Costa Rica. This life-changing experience helped guide Anneliese to pursue the veterinary profession and brought her into her first role in a veterinary hospital at H&H. She has a special interest in behavioral science and loves the challenge of finding better ways to communicate with animals as well as how to better understand them. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, camping, painting, drawing, and traveling to the tropics for snorkeling and scuba diving.

Anneliese lives in Grandview with her two adorable Boston Terriers, Felix & Olive. Felix brings a calming energy to the home with his constant lounging while Olive is a known spaz who keeps things wild and fun – truly a perfect pair!

Hayleigh is particularly interested in all things feline medicine. In her free time, she is an avid embroiderer and reader. Aside from cats, she is passionate about kitschy décor and eating anything with tomatoes and garlic. She has dreams of obtaining her Master’s degree and joining the field of editing someday.

Meet Our Medical Team

Meghan H., RVT

Meghan H., RVT

Registered Veterinary Technician

Meghan joined the H&H family in January 2020 after spending nearly a decade working as a Registered Veterinary Technician at her hometown practice in Granville. Though she got an early introduction to the veterinary world at only 11 years old through volunteering, she followed her creative passions and obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts before obtaining her Veterinary Technology Degree from Bradford’s Vet Tech Institute. Meghan loves all things veterinary medicine but particularly loves surgery, nursing, developing relationships with patients and clients, and anything involving feline medicine and Boston Terriers! Outside of animals, she is a talented artist in pencil drawings and wood burning art, particularly pet portraits. Meghan is a true lover of the Earth and enjoys plants and gardening.

Meghan lives in Grandview with her furry companions: a Boston Terrier named Mac and cats, Penny, Moose & Dean. The latest addition to the family, a young fellow named Poe, snuck through a hole in the wall and made himself right at home – boy, did he choose the perfect house!

Kimberly S., RVT

Kimberly S., RVT

Registered Veterinary Technician

We welcomed Kim to the H&H family in July 2020 – right in the midst of all the pandemic-related chaos. Despite these additional challenges, her nearly 18 years in the veterinary field allowed her to join our team with enviable grace. Her love of horses may have initially sparked her interest in veterinary medicine and led her to obtain an Equine Business Management Degree from Otterbein along with her Veterinary Technology degree from Columbus State. Kim quickly discovered her passion for dentistry and spent 14 years in dentistry-focused hospitals. In order to broaden her skills and knowledge, she spent the last 5 years working in oncology at MedVet before deciding to return to general practice medicine. To this day, dentistry remains one of her special interests as well as all things in the realm of our feisty felines! In her spare time, Kim enjoys music, theater, reading, crafting, and spending as much time with horses as she can. She also loves to travel and her favorite place thus far is Northern Ireland.

Kim lives in Dublin with her crew of kitties! She rescued a pair of brothers, Chaos & Mayhem, from a horse barn, her cat Ophelia had been abandoned at MedVet with a broken leg, and little Tobie was saved from a humane society euthanasia list for a laundry list of medical problems which Kim was happy to take on!

Nicole M., RVT

Nicole M., RVT

Registered Veterinary Technician

Ohio native Nicole joined our team in September 2022. Nicole always knew that she wanted to work in this field and had plenty of animal experience from spending summers on her grandparents’ farm. This love of helping animals never wavered, leading her to graduate from the Bradford Vet Tech Institute in 2012 and begin her career as a veterinary technician in 2013. Nicole’s special interests include imaging, nursing, and surgery – especially dental procedures. In her spare time, she enjoys being with her family, attending early 2000s punk concerts, and cheering on hockey games – Go Blue Jackets!

Nicole currently resides in Westerville with her high school sweetheart Shawn and her two boys, Nathan and Jason. She also has a crew of furry companions – precious kitties Neo and Cheeto, and her Dachshund Zeus, and mixed breed Juno, a stray she found on Easter in 2015!

Emily C.

Originally from Pickerington, she received her Bachelor of Science degree from Bowling Green State University and has aspirations to attend OSU to become a veterinarian. She loves learning more about behavioral medicine and always enjoys seeing large breed dogs, especially German Shepherds. Outside of work, Emily loves spending time with her friends and family, as well as her family dogs Bayne and Loki. Emily is a huge fan of Netflix documentaries, country music, and football – Go Bucks!

Emily currently resides in Pataskala with her boyfriend Jerrid and their dog Riley.

Jenni G.

Jenni joined our team in September 2022, and we are very lucky to have her! Jenni is originally from California, spent some time in Hawaii, and is now ready to call Columbus her home. She studied at Humboldt State University and is currently attending Columbus State to pursue her Veterinary Technology degree. She has hopes of one day applying to veterinary school! Jenni brought with her tons of exciting experience; she has previously worked in wildlife conservation with Hawaiian Isle Wild Bird Rehab and the Ohio Wildlife Center, as well as at a specialty/emergency veterinary clinic in Oahu. Jenni enjoys emergency medicine, exotics, and wildlife, and being able to continually learn new things. Outside of the office, Jenni raises Modena pigeons (her birds with curves) for show!

Jenni currently resides in Columbus with her spouse and her 3 dogs – Xena, a spoiled warrior princess and seizure-alert dog, her crazy 1-year-old Australian Shepherd Monty, and Cookie, a 5-year-old rescued Hawaiian Poi dog!

Emma P.

Emma P.

Veterinary Technician Assistant

Dayton native Emma joined our team in January 2022. Emma started her education in human nursing. While working at a pet store, she quickly realized that her passion was geared toward veterinary medicine rather than human medicine and started a Veterinary Assistant education to follow her heart. She started working at Medvet Dayton in 2017 and then transferred to Medvet Toledo after graduation. To be closer to his family, she and her partner moved to Columbus and she is happy to have found her home with Health & Harmony! Emma has special interests in feline medicine and low-stress handling techniques. Outside of work, she enjoys singing and playing the ukulele, painting, cosplaying for conventions and festivals, and being outdoors discovering plants, mushrooms, and critters!

Emma currently resides in Westerville with her partner, Solomon. Together, they have 4 cats: calm and cuddly Teddy, snuggle-bug Christian, outgoing Clover, and her new kitten with lots of extra toes, Judeau!

Ren H.

Ren H.

Hocking Hills native Ren joined the Health and Harmony team in November 2021 after relocating to Columbus for school, and we are so fortunate she did! Ren has had a life-long passion for animals; growing up on a farm, she has raised cattle, sheep, hogs, and horses and was involved in 4-H as a child. She has volunteered, interned, and worked as a seasonal animal trainer with the Cincinnati Zoo’s Cat Ambassador Program, interned with the Boonshoft Museum and Discovery Zoo as an Ambassador Keeper, and is currently a seasonal Animal Programs Specialist with the Columbus Zoo’s Animal Programs/Promotions Department. She has also worked seasonally at Walt Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom parks as a character attendant. Ren has a Bachelor’s degree in Natural History Education from OSU, a graduate certificate in Environmental Sustainability from Ohio University, and will graduate in December 2022 with her Master of Arts in Zoological Biology from Miami University. Her special interests include animal behavior and training, though she loves all learning opportunities! In her free time, she enjoys theater, painting, writing, reading, and anything Disney!

Ren currently resides in Grandview with her rescued disabled cat Scrambles. Although Scrambles had a difficult
start, he continues to amaze us with his resilience and constant loving personality!
