Meet Our Veterinarians
Dr. Evelyn Bowden, DVM
Dr. Evelyn Bowden is one of the proud owners of Health & Harmony Animal Hospital. Her Alma Mater is Wittenberg University where she graduated with a B.A. in Biology in 1996. Between undergrad and vet school, she allowed her life experiences to guide her to her next venture, which was to pursue a degree in Veterinary Medicine. She graduated from The Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2009, spent her first three years out of school working for a rural mixed animal practice, then pursued her dream of owning her own veterinary practice. She feels fortunate that Dr. Kim West joined her in this pursuit, as they have been devoted friends for almost 20 years! Creating a welcoming, calm, supportive environment by communicating openly with clients and going the extra mile to provide comfort to our patients has been their vision and we hope that you will experience this coming to our clinic.
Dr. Bowden shares her life and home first and foremost with her husband, Chuck, who is a Union Pipefitter of almost 30 years! Her stepson, Zach, is 20 and on his way to taking on and figuring out the world. They also have 3 rescue kitties (Bakey, Pixi, and Buddy) and 2 rescue dogs (Josie and Loki) who keeps them very busy! Their first Doberman (Tanner) will forever remain their hearts.
Dr. Kimberly West, DVM
Dr. Kimberly West graduated from The Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004 and has worked in various small animal veterinary hospitals and animal shelters within the Columbus area.
One of her passions is animal rescue which comes almost inherently; she has many inspiring stories, even about her own pets!
Dr. West is also excited to share the benefits of acupuncture and herbals in a more integrative approach to veterinary medicine, allowing more choices for the care of your animals.
Anyone that has met Dr. West knows that she has never met a stranger! This is evident in how deeply rooted she is in Columbus, especially within her own neighborhood of Grandview Heights.
Although her roots are in Grandview Heights, those roots extend all the way to Beavercreek, Colorado, where she and her husband, Blake, share time together snowboarding and hiking with their two dogs, Tupelo Honey and Fruitbat. You can now find Dr. West’s darling 3-year-old son, Michael, romping through her house as if he’d always been there!

Meet Our Team
Heidi Snell, RVT
Heidi has been with Health & Harmony since the early days when she was a Technician Assistant, in late 2013. She is originally from a small resort town in the green mountains of Southern Vermont, where she got her start in veterinary medicine at her local humane society. After attending Bradford’s Vet Tech Institute and obtaining her degree in Veterinary Technology, she returned home to work for her humane society as their Feline Specialist. Burdened with the ever-present sense of wanderlust, Heidi accepted a job in Northern Utah as the Veterinary Technician Supervisor for a brand new spay/neuter clinic Best Friends Animal Society was opening. After spending a year in Utah, her travels brought her back to the Midwest while she plans for the next adventure. Heidi’s special interests are shelter medicine, feline medicine & behavior, anesthesia, and surgery. In her personal life, Heidi’s passions are music, travel and the Southwest – which she often combines when traveling the U.S. for various concerts and music festivals. Heidi often makes trips home to Vermont and pulls dogs from kill shelters in West Virginia to be adopted through her Vermont shelter.
Heidi lives in Columbus with her boyfriend, Nick, and his senior cat, ‘The Heavyweight Champ, Miss Fatniss Everdeen. Her cats include an adorable, chirping Sphynx named Chiri and a mischievous kitten, Tobias aka TJ. Chiri was seized from a hoarding investigation in Knox County and Tobias found his way to H&H, orphaned at only 2 weeks old!
Lead Client Care Specialist
Tara is the beam of sunshine you’ll find at the front desk most days when you stop in. Tara moved from Mansfield to Columbus when she was 18 and hasn’t left since. Tara joined our team as Lead Patient Care Coordinator in July 2017, with 8 years of experience in client service at MedVet Worthington. Tara loves being able to bridge the gap between clients and medical staff to ensure that our patients are getting the best care. In her free time, Tara loves being outdoors doing anything from camping to hiking, kayaking or even snowboarding. If it’s inside, Tara loves cooking, exploring new restaurants and seeing live music.
Tara lives in Columbus with her beloved dog Harley. He’s a sweet, love bug who loves people, even while dealing with anxiety on a day to day basis!
Client Care Specialist
Most of our clients will already know Kelly, as she has been the face of our front desk as a Patient Care Coordinator since March 2014. Kelly was born in Syracuse, NY and joined the Air Force straight out of high school. After serving 5 years, she was honorably discharged and moved to Columbus a few years later. Kelly followed her lifelong love of animals to Citizens For Humane Action Animal Shelter where she began volunteering, before being hired. Kelly holds a Dog Training Certificate from Animal Behavior College, which makes sense, given her special interest in canine behavior and understanding how their brains work and learn. When Kelly finds time away from the clinic, she loves traveling to see live music, especially her favorite band, Twiddle. Moreover, Kelly loves being in nature hiking through forests with her pets when she can find the time.
Kelly lives with her husband Tim in Clintonville. They share their home with the best white boxer around, Bean, who was adopted from CHA after being brought in as a stray. Every once in a while, Bean has a special cameo appearance behind the front desk. They added a sweet, playful kitty, Pickle, to their family in 2016 that had been living at the clinic after being found by some of Dr. Bowden’s family. Pickle even went for some on-leash hikes during the family trip to Hocking Hills last fall!
Mandy Bible, RVT
Registered Veterinary Technician
Mandy is one of our amazing Registered Veterinary Technicians who was born and raised here in Columbus. Mandy has worked in the veterinary field since 2002 and has been part of the H&H team since January 2013. She has moved from being one of our first Patient Care Coordinators to being a Veterinary Technician Assistant. Mandy followed her passion for animals to Columbus State Community College and received her degree in Veterinary Technology so that she could help animals as much as possible. Mandy’s special interests are dermatology (inspired by her personal dog’s struggles, performing laboratory tests and working with clients during appointments to improve their pet’s health. When she isn’t taking care of our patients or swimming in her pool, Mandy loves traveling and supporting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in honor of a dear friend and her own grandfather.
Mandy lives in Powell with her husband Dustan and the love of their life – a sweet pitbull/boxer mix, Emme, who was adopted through Madison County Humane Society when Emme was being trained through their prison program. They also have 2 cats – Monster and Twitter Ann, who is a little kitty tripod! They also care for an outdoor cat, Buddy, who fell in love with Emme and has decided to buy property in their own backyard of Powell.
Denise Elshoff, RVT
Registered Veterinary Technician
Denise has been one of our Registered Veterinary Technicians since January of 2016. She previously worked at Noak’s Ark Veterinary Hospital and OSU-VMC-Dublin in their surgery & anesthesia department. Before her dog inspired her to pursue veterinary medicine, Denise taught music theory and violin, and she later worked at PetPeople while pursuing her Veterinary Technology degree. She holds degrees in music theory from Yale and OSU as well as a degree in Veterinary Technology from Columbus State. Denise’s special interests include small animal anesthesia, dentistry, and behavior, which allow her to use her skills to the fullest extent.
Denise lives in Powell with her dogs, Mugsy and Cricket. Mugsy is a happy, high energy dog who loves agility and hiking. They share their home with Cricket, who Denise’s parents adopted when she moved to Missouri because of how similar Cricket is to Mugsy.
Inspired by watching veterinarians treat her own animals while she was growing up, Mandy joined our team in April 2017. She is originally from northeastern Ohio but has stuck close to Columbus since attending OSU and earning her Bachelors in agriculture. Mandy has worked in many different roles, from the Dangerous Wild Animal Division of the Ohio Department of Agriculture to a lab tech at ST Genetics. In addition, she has also volunteered at the Geauga County Dog Shelter and the Ohio State Western Equestrian Team. Her special interests include nutrition and large animal medicine, especially equine.
Mandy lives in Powell with her husband Dusty. They share their home with Koda, a spunky Australian Shepherd who can often be caught tagging along to work with mom. With her love of large animal medicine, it’s no surprise that Mandy also has a 15-year-old horse named Babe and got Babe a goat companion, Missy, after her previous horse passed.
Veterinary Technician Assistant
We have been lucky enough to have Aubrey as one of our talented Veterinary Technician Assistants since May 2014. Aubrey grew up in rural Licking County showing golden retrievers and Netherland dwarf rabbits though her local 4H program. Her first job was at her local humane society, which ignited her passion for rescue work. She worked at a doggie daycare after moving to Columbus and has been very active volunteering and fostering with many local rescues ever since. Aubrey is taking classes towards becoming a Registered Veterinary Technician while operating her own, very busy pet sitting business. Her special interests include behavior, shelter medicine, dermatology, and parasitology. When Aubrey is able to sneak a little time in for herself, she loves taking her dogs on adventures and exploring nature.
Aubrey lives in Grandview with her 10yr old pittie mix Thatcher, who proudly displays his old man badge, and his best friend, Sanura the kitty. His little brother is a 3yr old Australian Cattle Dog and they are sharing their home with a cattle dog pup, Newt, who can sometimes be found causing mayhem at H&H with his favorite stuffed pig.
Veterinary Technician Assistant
Ali started her journey into veterinary medicine at H&H as a Veterinary Technician Assistant in September 2015, where her mother had been a client of ours since the very beginning! Ali’s mom started and still maintains a very successful pet sitting business in Dublin, which is where Ali developed a passion for working with animals. Ali holds an Associate of Science degree and has volunteered at Franklin County Dog Shelter in the past. Her special interest is in orthopedics, thanks to her tripod pup! In her spare time, Ali loves painting, helping her mom run her business and spending time with her dog.
Ali lives in Dublin with her beloved dog, Baby, who had been hit by a car while living on the streets with her homeless owner. Baby may have lost a leg in that accident, but she certainly didn’t lose any of her spirit!
Veterinary Technician Assistant
In November 2017, we welcomed David to the H&H family as one of our wonderful Veterinary Technician Assistants. David grew up in a small town outside of Columbus and followed his passion to Ohio University where he studied music production. After spending a few years in Chicago working in IT, he made his way back to Columbus to become the owner and manager of a garage door business. During this time, David spent a few months working with a local shelter which inspired him to take his passion for animals to the next level and make his first official dive into veterinary medicine by joining our team here at Health & Harmony. Beyond animals, David is a multi-instrumentalist and can currently be found playing drums in a local band, Cosmo’s Elephant. In the rest of his spare time, David co-hosts a comedy based, horror movie Podcast (‘Get It Together’) and is a lover of classic cars.
David lives in New Albany with his fiancé, Mary, and their animals. They are the proud owners of Mylie, an Italian Greyhound mix, and Jan, a greyhound, who were both adopted from local greyhound rescues! Hughey is the final piece of the puzzle, often being found pouncing on his canine counterparts and keeping them in line!
