Ren H.

Hocking Hills native Ren joined the Health and Harmony team in November 2021 after relocating to Columbus for school, and we are so fortunate she did! Ren has had a life-long passion for animals; growing up on a farm, she has raised cattle, sheep, hogs, and horses and was involved in 4-H as a child. She has volunteered, interned, and worked as a seasonal animal trainer with the Cincinnati Zoo’s Cat Ambassador Program, interned with the Boonshoft Museum and Discovery Zoo as an Ambassador Keeper, and is currently a seasonal Animal Programs Specialist with the Columbus Zoo’s Animal Programs/Promotions Department. She has also worked seasonally at Walt Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom parks as a character attendant. Ren has a Bachelor’s degree in Natural History Education from OSU, a graduate certificate in Environmental Sustainability from Ohio University, and will graduate in December 2022 with her Master of Arts in Zoological Biology from Miami University. Her special interests include animal behavior and training, though she loves all learning opportunities! In her free time, she enjoys theater, painting, writing, reading, and anything Disney!

Ren currently resides in Grandview with her rescued disabled cat Scrambles. Although Scrambles had a difficult
start, he continues to amaze us with his resilience and constant loving personality!
